Aeronautical Engineering (Mechanical) & (Electronics)

  • A prospect can join the Aeronautical Engineering branch of Indian Air Force through one of the following:
  • (a)National Defence Academy (NDA) entry.
  • Entry through NDA entry is available only in Aeronautical Engineering(Mechanical) branch for prospects who have successfully completed 10 +2. The detailed QRs given below.

    (b) Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) entry. Entry through AFCAT entry is available for prospects who have successfully completed graduation from recognised University. The detailed QRs given below.

    OTHER TERMS & CONDITIONS
    • Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT) conducted by IAF followed by Air Force Selection Board (AFSB) interview.
    • Short service commission in Technical Branch is for 10 years extendable by 4 years.
    • Final year/semester students can also apply for all entries. All such candidates should not have any present backlog and should have scored a minimum of 60% marks up to last semester/ year for which results have been declared at the time of applying/ AFSB testing.
    EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

    AERONAUTICAL ENGINEER (ELECTRONICS) {AE(L)}

    Candidates with a minimum Of 50% marks each In Physics And Mathematics at 10+2 level and a minimum of four years graduation/integrated Post-Graduation qualification In Engineering/ Technology from a recognised University or cleared sections A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India or Graduate Membership Examination of the institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers by actual studies with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent in the following disciplines:-
