Security Training
We
conduct specialised training programs to identify and prepare officers to join
the security and intelligence department.
The following courses are conducted for training in Security and Intelligence:
- General Intelligence Security Course
- Advance Security Intelligence Course
- Provost Course
- Interrogation Course
General Intelligence Security Course Officers (GISCO)
The course is a basic one, open to young officers with a minimum of three years in service. The curriculum includes the fundamental aspects of security, intelligence and Photo Interpretation. The objective of the course is also to assess an individual officer's suitability for further specialisation through advance courses in security- intelligence as well as Photo Interpretation.
Advance Security Intelligence Course Officers
This course is targeted towards officers with a minimum of five years experience as well as completion of GISCO. The objective of the course is to train officers for security, intelligence and counter-intelligence. Officers who take the course serve as backup of security-trained officers to meet future requirements. They also contribute to the general enhancement of security consciousness within the Air Force.
Provost Course
This course is targeted towards officers posted or likely to be posted as Assistant Provost Marshal. The curriculum includes subjects like Provost duties, Security, Law and investigations as well as the use of Forensic Aids in investigation.
Interrogation Course Officers
Officers with basic training in Security and intelligence, take this course to gain expertise in interrogation, especially of POW or refugees.
