Non-Technical Training Officers
Managing
our extensive material and human resources is a task that requires highly trained
personnel. We conduct training programs that help our officers be aware of and
apply best practices to fulfil their responsibilities.
The following courses are conducted for Officers from Non-Technical Branches:

- Advance Air Traffic Control Officers(AATCO'S) Course

Ground Duties Officers Courses (GDOC)
These courses are organised for newly recruited officers of different Ground Duty Branches of the Indian Air Force. These courses prepare them to undertake responsibilities of an officer.
The following are the courses organised for the different Ground Duty Branches:
- Ground Duties Officers Course (Administrative)
The objective of this course is to train cadets to prepare them for their duties in the administrative department. They are trained to undertake general administrative and managerial functions.
- Ground Duties Officers Course (Logistics)
This course helps ab-initio officers acquire skills in material management. Their responsibilities include dealing with procurement storage, preservation and accounting of technical/non-technical stores and aircraft spares.
- Ground Duties Officers Course (Accounts)
The course is targeted at enabling ab-initio trainees towards financial management and account of inventories. They are also trained to monitor the disbursement of public funds and act as internal auditors in the process.
- Ground Duties Officers Course (Education)
Ab-initio trainees in the Education Branch take this course to gain expertise in the management of implementation of the General Education Scheme at Air Force Stations. They are also trained to undertake teaching of subjects like Science, Mathematics and Languages.
Advanced Logistics Officers Course (ALOC)
This course is targeted at officers of the Logistics Branch ready to take on staff appointments. It familiarises them with details of good material management and resource utilisation.
Advanced Accounts Course
The objective of the course is to train officers of the Accounts branch to undertake the responsibilities that accompany senior appointments as Staff Officers. The course content includes budgeting and financial management, internal audit principles and procedures. The officers are also trained to undertake management of public and non-public funds.
Basic Air Traffic Control Officers Course (BATCO)
The purpose of the course is to train officers of the Administrative Branch in Air Traffic Services Procedures to discharge their responsibilities as Air Traffic Controllers.
Ground Control Approach (GCA) Course
The course is directed towards training Air Traffic Control Officers. They are instructed in Radar procedures to fulfil Ground Control Approach duties.
Advanced
Air Traffic Control Officers Course (AATCO)
Air Traffic Control Officers take this course to effectively perform the duties
of Senior Air Traffic Control Officers/CO of Air Traffic Surveillance Radar Units/Chief
Radar Controllers.
Junior Commanders Course
The course is targeted at training officers in management and related subjects for them to effectively function as Junior Commanders and Junior Staff Officers. The course covers tenets of man management and resource utilisation. Human resource development and specifics of estate and works management also form the core of the course content. They are also introduced to service writing, legal procedures and associated subjects.
Chief Administrative Officers Course
The course is conducted for senior officers in the Administration Branch as a pre-cursor to being appointed Chief Administration Officer at Air Force Bases across the country. The course is broadly aimed at orientating officers to the higher directorial levels of the Indian Air Force and covering specifics of their Branch duties, in order to ensure that Administration remains primed to support the complex operational, technical and logistical requirements of the Air Force.
Fighter Controller Course
Officers preparing to function as Fighter Controllers in Air Defence units undertake this course. The program is designed to familiarise them with the responsibilities of a Fighter Controller using ground based radar equipment.
