Defence Services Staff College Course (Air Wing)

Officers selected to hold high staff and command appointments require special training to undertake their responsibilities. The course qualifies the officers for the award of an M.Sc. degree in Defence and Strategic Studies from the University of Chennai, and is recognised as a post-graduate degree by all Universities. The curriculum of this ten-month course familiarises them with higher strategy and joint operations by all three services. The course involves a great deal of academic learning specific to military and campaign studies.


Joint Air Warfare Course (JAWC)
The course is directed towards Air Force, Army and Navy Officers in the three aspects of Joint Warfare. The curriculum covers planning and execution of operational tasks involving the other two services.


Jungle and Snow Survival Course
This course is specifically aimed at officers who are part of the Aircrew. The objective of this program is to familiarise them with survival techniques.
